Machiko Inoue, MD, MPH, PhD is a family physician and serves as Chair and Professor of Department of Family and Community of Medicine at the Hamamatsu University School of Medicine, as well as Director of Shizuoka Family Medicine Training Program in Japan. Based on her early career experience in Obstetrics and Gynecology, she promoted women’s health care in the primary care setting through lectures, workshops and books, and chaired the Committee for Women’s Health Care in the Japan Primary Care Association. As an educator in family medicine and a researcher in primary care and health communication, she has engaged in numerous research projects and has published articles on the quality of primary care, healthy aging and elderly care, women’s health, and health services. She serves as an Executive Vice President of the Japan Primary Care Association, responsible for academic and international affairs, since 2020 and has worked closely with leaders of the WONCA Asia Pacific Region. She is also a member of the team hosting the WONCA World Conference, to be held in Kyoto, Japan, in 2029.
