
Dr. Josefina S. Isidro-Lapeña is a distinguished Filipino family physician, educator, and leader in primary health care and community medicine. She currently serves as Chair of the Department of Family and Community Medicine at The Medical City (Ortigas and Clark) and has held senior academic roles at the University of the Philippines College of Medicine, where she has been a long-time professor, department chair, and adviser in regionalization and mentoring programs.
With decades of experience in family medicine training, curriculum development, and quality assurance, Dr. Isidro-Lapeña has played a major role in shaping family medicine education and standards in the Philippines. She has served in numerous leadership positions within the Philippine Academy of Family Physicians, including Chair of the National Residency, Research, Primary Health Care, and Quality Assurance Committees, and as Vice President for city and provincial chapters.
Her work extends deeply into community-based health programs, tuberculosis control initiatives, hospice and palliative care, and mentoring of health professionals nationwide.
