
Dr. Reggiena Lachica is a Family and Community Medicine physician and health professions educator from the Philippines, with a strong commitment to people-centered, family-focused, and community-oriented primary care. She is a Fellow of the Philippine Academy of Family Physicians and currently serves as the Residency Training Officer of the Sorsogon Province-wide Family and Community Medicine Practice-based Residency Training Program, where she is actively involved in the professional formation of future family physicians across diverse community and clinical settings.
She serves as a faculty member in Family and Community Medicine at Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila – College of Medicine and The Manila Times College Subic - School of Medicine, contributing to undergraduate medical education across the pre-clinical and clinical years. Her teaching focuses on community engagement, partnerships, health service delivery, and community program planning and implementation, guiding learners to appreciate the broader social and health system contexts of care. Alongside her academic roles, Dr. Lachica maintains an active clinical practice.
Dr. Lachica is a member of the Philippine Specialty Board of Examiners in Family and Community Medicine, contributing to the advancement and maintenance of professional standards within the discipline. Her work as an educator and trainer is grounded in developing “diamond physicians”—family physicians who integrate clinical excellence with the roles of educator, researcher, navigator, coordinator, and leader.
Across her clinical, educational, and leadership roles, Dr. Lachica is guided by a deep belief that collaborative practice and strong primary care systems are essential to achieving equitable, responsive, and sustainable health care for individuals, families, and communities.
